虚学の意味

ひと月ほど前、「実学の存在意義はわかるけど、実際に役に立たなそうな研究にどういう意味あるのか、私にはよく分からない」という人と話す機会があり、そのときボクは、「僕のやっているのも虚学なんですけどね」と前置きしてから、こう答えたのだった。

結局、虚学ってのは人生論みたいなもんなんですよ。実学がないと生きていけないですけど、人生論っていうのも、まったく無ければ、それはそれで不便なものですからね。

ナイスな答えである。
しかし「本当はこのくらいは思ってるんだよ」という文章を今日読んでいた本のなかに発見したので、ちょっと紹介しておこう。

カッコイイよね。この後、こう続く。

しかしこの論文を精読していて（再読）、今日は結構重要なことに気付いたよん。
